The International Dog Parkour Association is organized by Adventure Unleashed.

We are dedicated to having people spend more time outside with their dogs. After forming a 501c3 non-profit organization in 2014 to run camps, trips, and other outdoor adventures for youth, adults, and their canine companions, they decided to take on yet another project. Which is how the International Dog Parkour Association arose.

After starting human parkour in early 2011, Karin and Abigail realized the benefits they received from training parkour could also apply to their dogs. They started seriously training their dogs for parkour shortly after and began teaching dog parkour classes where they helped students find obstacles, train, and strengthen their dogs for parkour.

It quickly became apparent through these classes just how many benefits ANY dog can receive from this training. They have had dogs in class ranging from geriatric to puppy, fearful to over-confident and each dog has progressed in ways their owners never thought possible. In addition to being experienced human parkour practitioners that have trained with the founders of the discipline, Karin is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), and TAGTeach Faculty. Abigail is a veterinarian, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and TAGTeach Faculty.

After connecting with other like-minded individuals, Adventure Unleashed realized they wanted people outside of their local area to receive the benefits that come from training your dog in parkour. Thus, the birth of the titling, but non-competitive, organization International Dog Parkour Association.
